Your words should work as hard as you do.
What I do.
Hi. I’m Sherri. I am a writer and editor who works with organizations and authors to help them create thoughtful written copy (reports, proposals, and creative works, for example) that are intelligent, insightful, impactful, and inclusive. Through editing, fact-checking, citation creation and compliance, ghost-writing, and proofreading, I collaborate with clients on reports, essays, case studies, literary works, web content, and more. I also help them develop in-house style guides that outline how they talk about themselves and what they do, create consistency across communications and deliverables, and reflect their commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. I am comfortable with technical and medical language and am working toward a Special Certificate in Science Communication from U.C., San Diego.
Let’s talk about how I can help you.
Working with me.
A virtual call is always a great place to start, getting to know one another and discussing your needs. If we align well, I will send you a proposal, and we can embark on our relationship, either for a one-off project or as an ongoing collaboration. We’ll meet again to discuss the project's parameters and the work's details and cadence. Once I grasp your objectives, I’ll get my beloved red pen and take to the copy, sending you my suggested edits via track changes. We’ll then work together to finalize the draft, getting the copy as you would like. I'll send an invoice once the copy is finalized and in your possession. I want to work in the way that suits you best, so I am always flexible and responsive.
Who I’ve been working with.

I've been editing medical questions in general and specialty medicine for more than a year. I follow a comprehensive style guide, create and confirm extensive citations (APA-based style), give feedback to authors and medical content editors, and work on a mid-sized editorial team.
I've also worked on two great initiatives with Blueprint: the Quiz for a Cause and the Inclusive Language Guide.

What clients are saying.

“Sherri's insights brought precision and improved the quality of my proposal. I highly recommend her services!”
Vanessa Osage
Author, Speaker, & Nonprofit Leader -
"Sherri quickly learned our detailed style guide and fully embraced our inclusive language ideals. Despite not having a science background, she learned the medical and technical terms used in our content. She also balances speed and perfection, a tricky pursuit in the copyediting world. I highly recommend Sherri."
Melinda Campbell
Copyediting Manager, Blueprint -
“Sherri took great care to respect the author's voice in the manuscript she edited for me. Instead of bullying the author’s voice into submission with rigid rules or her own tone, she elevated it and made it sing!”
